Located in the heart of the old town (Casco Viejo) in front of the famous Arco Chato ruins, Mostaza offers both indoor and outdoor dining in a unique historical venue dating back to the early 17th century. The restaurant serves an eclectic fusion of Panamanian & Argentinean fares, a direct reflection of the co-owners Jose & Gaconda’s nationalities.

In a city landscape of ever changing dinning venues, Mostaza maintains five years and counting as a jewel of excellence and consistency with moderate pricing. The specialties range from live fresh lobsters flown in from the Kuna Indian Caribbean islands of San Blas to imported Argentinean & American Steaks. Not to be overlooked are the delectable appetizers such as Civiche Yucateco, Chistora (Mini spanish sausages) always accompanied by freshly made hot bread roles that melt in your mouth. For the individual looking for lighter fare there are several excellent pasta, seafood and fish specialties from both the Pacific Ocean & the Caribbean Sea.

Mostaza (which means Mustard) has an intimate and cozy atmosphere with a great bar and wine menu as well as live music from Thursday to Saturday. Don’t miss out on this cultural and gastronomical wonder after which you can take a stroll through the coble stone streets of the old town.
